Author Guidelines

Requirements for Manuscript Submission

Authors who wish to submit to the Journal of Educational Innovations in Science and Technology (Journal of EIST) should carefully follow the instructions below. Each item describes exactly what is expected and how the corresponding section or material should be presented in your submission.

Authors must ensure their work is between 4,000 to 7,000 words, including references, and is prepared in Microsoft Word format. Submissions are accepted as research articles or reviews and must be written in clear, concise English in any dialect. Manuscripts should be formatted for A4 pages using 12-point Times New Roman font, with title centred in 14-point bold, and incorporate automatic page numbering throughout. Margin should be 1 inch throughout. Authors must adhere strictly to the journal's editorial policies and formatting guidelines to maximise the likelihood of publication. Abstracts must not exceed 150 words, and at least five relevant keywords should be provided. Each author is required to have an ORCID account. All figures and tables must be clearly numbered and cited consecutively within the main text file. Authors should use APA Style (7th edition) for all in-text citations and references. To facilitate the double-blind peer review process, authors' names and affiliations must only appear on the title document, ensuring the main manuscript remains fully anonymous. If instruments, surveys, or tools are utilised, these must be included as appendices with sufficient detail for replication. Authors must declare any use of artificial intelligence in the research and specify where it was applied, ensuring the AI contribution does not exceed 20% of the manuscript. The similarity index must be kept at or below 10%. By following these comprehensive guidelines, authors support a transparent, ethical, and high-quality review and publication process.

C Author ethical declarations

(i) Authors' information

This section includes relevant information about the authors that may aid the readers' interpretation of the article and help them understand the standpoint of the authors. This may include details about the authors' qualifications, current positions at institutions or societies, or other relevant background information. Please refer to authors using their initials. Note this section should not be used to describe any competing interests.

(ii) Funding

All sources of funding for the research reported should be declared. The role of the funding body in the design of the study and collection, analysis, and interpretation of data and in writing the manuscript should be declared.

(iii) Availability of data and material

This section details where the data supporting the authors' findings can be found. If authors do not wish to share their data, please state that data will not be shared, and state the reason. For example, "The datasets generated during and/or analysed during the current study are available from the corresponding author on reasonable request." If it is not applicable, please put "Not applicable."

(iv) Competing interests

All financial and non-financial competing interests must be declared in this section. If it is not applicable, please put the following statement in this section: "The authors declare that they have no competing interests."

(v) Authors' contributions

The individual contributions of authors to the manuscript should be specified in this section. For example: Author 1: Writing – review & editing, Validation, Supervision, Resources, Project administration, Investigation, Funding acquisition, Data curation, Conceptualisation. Author 2: Writing – original draft, Conceptualisation, Methodology, Investigation, Formal analysis.

(vi) Acknowledgements

Please acknowledge anyone who contributed to the article who does not meet the criteria for authorship. For example, it can start with "The authors would like to acknowledge…"

(vii) AI Usage

If artificial intelligence tools were involved at any stage of the research or manuscript writing, specify the applications and the extent of their use. Describe what tasks were completed by AI and clarify the percentage or portions of the work that AI contributed.

D Manuscript abstract

The abstract should summarise the paper's context, content, and conclusions in 200–250 words. It should not contain any reference citations or displayed equations. Please minimise the use of abbreviations in the abstract.

Appendix

Provide any supplementary material necessary for understanding the research and for replication, such as test scales and instruments used. Either adopted, adapted, or developed. Include technical specifications and information required to replicate or assess your methods.

References

All works cited in your manuscript should be listed in a comprehensive reference section. Use the citation format required by the Journal of EIST (APA 7th edition) and ensure every source mentioned in the text appears in this section.

Figures

Figures should be submitted in either PNG, JPG, or JPEG formats. Each figure must include a caption that explains its contents. The caption should be concise and make the figure understandable without referring to the main text.
